Desiree is a Family Nurse Practitioner, certified through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. Her passion for women’s health inspired her to continue her education and obtain her Master of Science Degree in Nursing at Walden University. She distinguished herself by graduating at the top of her class and was a member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.
Before joining Women’s Medical Care, Desiree began her career 29 years ago focusing on labor and delivery. Since then, she has also worked in a variety of settings, including correctional facilities, schools, and outpatient gynecology clinics. Throughout her career, Desiree has had the opportunity to provide care to patients all across the United States as a travel nurse. Travel nursing gave her the opportunity to care for people from diverse backgrounds and cultures, strengthening her ability to provide culturally sensitive care. Desiree is deeply passionate about providing comprehensive women’s health care that is patient-centered.
Desiree‘s areas of interest include preventive healthcare, contraceptive counseling and management, hormone replacement therapy, sexually transmitted infections, menstrual concerns, vulvovaginal concerns, and obstetrical care.
Desiree strives to serve the women in her community by empowering them to make healthcare decisions individualized to their needs through shared decision making. Outside of her work at Women’s Medical Care, Desiree enjoys exploring all that the Prescott area has to offer, including hiking and camping. She also loves to travel and spend time with her family, including her dog, Rupert.
